What is the J-Plazty Facelift?

The J-Plazty Facelift is a revolutionary new minimally invasive procedure to lift and tighten the face and neck. Passing “helium plasma’’ energy under the skin of face and neck, these areas can be tightened and elevated effectively without the large incisions, downtime, and potential complications of traditional facelift surgery.

The J-Plazty facelift was developed and perfected by Dr. Jack Zemora, a prominent cosmetic surgeon from Denver, Colorado. Dr. Fisher has had the opportunity to learn this wonderful procedure directly from Dr. Zemora.

How is the Procedure Done?

Using local anesthesia in the in-office setting, tiny incisions are made under the chin and earlobe, through which several absorbing sutures are passed elevating the jowls, neck, and cheeks. Then through these same incisions, a special device delivers helium plasma energy to the undersurface of the facial and neck skin tightening and sculpting it over the previously placed sutures. The helium plasma energy not only tightens the skin immediately but also stimulates the production of collagen in the skin that continues to improve the skin tightening over the ensuing months. The results of this procedure that takes less than an hour are similar to a traditional facelift without the large incisions and downtime.

What Is Helium Plasma Energy?

Helium is normally inert non-reactive gas; however when it is ionized with radiofrequency energy it becomes very reactive, and a state that scientists refer to as “plasma”. When the helium plasma contacts the undersurface of the skin, it tightens it instantly to a degree that is unmatched by other current technologies such as ultrasound, radiofrequency or lasers. Additionally, the helium plasma is much cooler than laser energy, making it far safer. We now have an FDA approved device that can deliver helium plasma in an entirely safe and effective way for facial and body skin tightening.

What is the Downtime from the J-Plazty Facelift?

Mild swelling and light bruising can be expected after this procedure. This usually gone entirely in 5-7 days, however most patients are presentable in two to three days when normal activities can be resumed. Post procedure pain is minimal, usually relieved with over-the-counter analgesics such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.

Who is a Candidate for the J-Plazty Facelift?

The J-Plazty procedure has been used on all age groups from men and women in their forties to those in their eighties, all with good results. Those with minimal sagging of the cheeks, jowls and neck will see the most satisfying improvement while the traditional facelift is often a better choice with patients with more advanced age related changes. We find that many patients select the J-Plazty facelift because they just don’t want to undergo a more extensive procedure with the expense and downtime it entails yet still want to see a good improvement. Your consultation with Dr. Fisher will afford you the opportunity to see what is the best procedure for you to achieve the results you want.
